Help
A quick guide to using ScorpInvoice, setting up payments, and getting in touch.
Getting started
- Add a client. Go to Clients → + Add client, or add one on the fly while creating an invoice.
- Create an invoice or quote. Go to Invoices or Quotes → + New, pick a client, add line items, and send.
- Send it via WhatsApp. Every invoice and quote has a public link and a “Send via WhatsApp” button — no client login or app download needed on their end.
- Get paid. Once you’ve connected a payment method (see below), your client can pay by card or bank transfer directly from the link you send. Paid invoices update automatically.
- Log expenses. Use Expenses to track allowable business costs — snap a photo of a receipt and the category fills in automatically.
- Check your tax position. Tax report gives you a running Self Assessment (SA103) summary, with a CSV export for your accountant or HMRC filing.
Payment setup
Clients can’t pay an invoice online until you’ve connected at least one payment method in Settings. You can connect one, both, or neither — an invoice with nothing connected still works, it just won’t offer online payment.
Stripe (card payments)
- Go to Settings and tap Connect with Stripe under “Stripe (Card Payments)”.
- Complete Stripe’s onboarding form (business and bank details) — this happens on Stripe’s own secure pages, not inside ScorpInvoice.
- If you close the form before finishing, come back to Settings and tap Continue setup to pick up where you left off.
- Once approved, Settings shows “✓ Connected” and your invoices will offer Pay by Card.
GoCardless (Pay by Bank — easy setup)
- Go to Settings and tap Connect with GoCardless.
- You’ll be sent to GoCardless to sign in (or create an account) and authorise ScorpInvoice — no manual bank details are entered in ScorpInvoice itself.
- Once you’re back on Settings showing “✓ Connected”, your GBP invoices will offer Pay by Bank — usually settling the same or next business day via Faster Payments.
If you ever need to reconnect a different account, use the Disconnect button next to that provider in Settings first, then connect again.
